Courier April 22, 2019

A few of our members are employed with the City of Conroe Parks and Recreation Department, which is in total alignment with our mission to enrich the lives of children in the Greater Conroe area. One of the biggest events the city hosts is Kidzfest, the last Saturday in April annually.

Saturday, April 27th from 10:00am to 5:00pm throughout the Downtown Conroe area, the streets of Metcalf, Main, Thompson, San Jacinto, and Heritage Park will be fenced in with FREE games, interactive booths, stage performances, food, rides, inflatables, and activities for increased security of the children. The Kiwanis Club with the Caney Creek High School Key Club will be assisting the City Parks Department with parking in the two garages accessible off of Simonton street.

On the member side, we are excited to welcome Penny Wilson to Conroe Noon Kiwanis. She is the Chief Operating Officer of Yes to Youth, Montgomery County Youth Services. Yes to Youth MCYS, provides crisis counseling, shelter programs, and prevention services to strengthen families, keep youth in school, and prepare them to be productive citizens. Penny will keep us engaged with opportunities to serve sheltered youth and families in crisis through our community partnerships in the community.

If you have a youth program that you would like to share with us, please reach out and let us see how we can impact lives together. Our hope to increase our membership this year, to make a greater difference to kids.

Stop by for lunch every Wednesday at Hacienda Mis Padres Grill (5104 W. Davis, Conroe, TX 77304) at noon.

Visitors and guests ALWAYS welcome.
