Courier Dec. 31, 2018

2018 was a fulfilling year for all of us at the Conroe Noon Kiwanis Club with outreach activities effecting children, youth, and families.

In May, seven scholarships of $1000 each were awarded to high school graduating seniors from local schools.

The Annual Kiwanis Kids Day at the Park was held after Labor Day at Carl Barton Park and included moonwalks, rock wall, petting zoo, and a display with local first responders from the Conroe Police Department, Conroe Fire Department, PHI Medical Helicopter, and Montgomery County Hospital District.

The first-place winner of our Annual Fundraising Raffle that was chosen in a meeting on October 10, Carolyn Bentley won a 4 Night Cruise from Galveston with Carnival for 2 adults and 2 children. ($2,600 value)! Raffle funds raised over $5600 to supplement Kiwanis programs in Conroe enabling children to grow and thrive.

Our last projects of the year were the Holiday Food Baskets and the monetary donation for Yes to Youth, Montgomery County Youth Services. This could not have been possible with out the support from our raffle and donations from the community.

The Conroe Noon Kiwanis Club has been serving children in the community since 1952 with enrichment activities designed for learning, growing, dreaming, and succeeding. They are dedicated to helping kids locally around the Greater Conroe area.

Our next meeting will be Wednesday, January 9th at Hacienda Mis Padres at noon followed by our Membership Drive Mixer and Social at Pacific Yard House from 5:30pm-7:00pm the same day. Drop by for appetizers and meet some of the club members.

Vow to start off 2019 with a goal to get involved in the oldest service organization devoted to improving lives of youth and children in the Greater Conroe area. See you Jan 9th!
