Happy New Year!
After a couple of weeks off for Christmas your local Conroe Noon Kiwanis is ready to have a fabulous 2019 engaging high school youth and adults in our mission to bring hope and inspiration to our local youth through activities.
Our first lunch meeting on Wednesday, Jan 9 we heard from Eva Aguirre, President and CEO of New Danville. She spoke about the new master-planned community with a “Town Center” concept that will provide affordable rental housing, social and life skills training to promote independent living, job training, activities to promote self-esteem, recreational activities, counseling and therapies as needed, and an opportunity to live independently or in an assisted living facility for adults with disabilities.
We look forward to partnering with New Danville as a club in the future!
The first Social Network Meeting at Pacific Yard house yielded new faces and possible memberships. The club may initiate monthly socials to generate additional memberships and outreach in the Conroe area.
One of our goals in 2019 is to increase student involvement in the Conroe ISD high schools. If you have a student attending the schools or are an educator at one of the high schools and would like to bring a Key Club to your campus, please contact Javier Pena at jpena@cityofconroe.org
The Conroe Noon Kiwanis Club meets every Wednesday at Hacienda Mis Padres Mexican Grill (5104 W. Davis, Conroe, TX 77304) at noon. If you are interested in making a difference in your community, visit our website at www.ConroeKiwanis.com
