In our last article we talked about our goal to increase student involvement through enlarging our footprint in the Conroe ISD high schools. The club voted to assist a local Key Club student with a $100 sponsorship to go the Key Club District meeting. Lt. Gov. Micha Bermoy is the Division 9E Key Club Lieutenant Governor and she will be attending the meeting to continue her involvement in Regional Key Club functions and events. Our Kiwanis club currently sponsors one Key Club in our district at Caney Creek High school, but we are hoping to assist with the formation of a new key club right here at Conroe High school. If you have a student attending the schools or are an educator at one of the high schools and would like to bring a Key Club to your campus, please contact Javier Pena at jpena@cityofconroe.org

We have one speaker lined up for February. Katie Shroff will be at our meeting to speak about YES to YOUTH – Montgomery County Youth Services on Wednesday, Feb 20th. The club has partnered with the organization for many years and in 2018 The Conroe Noon Kiwanis Club contributed $2,000 to Yes to Youth, formerly Montgomery County Youth Services, to provide for the needs of several families in the community for Christmas.

Katie will be joining us to update us on how they utilized the funds donated by the club with the families they serve.

The Conroe Noon Kiwanis Club meets every Wednesday at Hacienda Mis Padres Mexican Grill (5104 W. Davis, Conroe, TX 77304) at noon. We post all over our updates on Facebook at ConroeNoonKiwanis. Visitors and guests ALWAYS welcome to join us!
