Congratulations to the first-place winner of our Annual Raffle that was chose in a meeting on October 10, Carolyn Bentley! Carolyn won a 4 Night Cruise from Galveston with Carnival for 2 adults and 2 children. ($2,600 value)! Raffle funds raised over $5600 to supplement Kiwanis programs in Conroe enabling children to grow and thrive.
Our next project will be focused on Holiday Food Baskets for families in Conroe. More information about the details of that program will be shared next week. Conroe Noon Kiwanis will be partnering with the Evening Kiwanis Club of Conroe for the Christmas Celebration and Parade in Downtown Conroe Saturday, December 8. Daniel Pruett was installed this month as the District 9 Lieutenant Governor for the Texas/Oklahoma District in Kiwanis International. He is a 4th generation Texan born and raised in Conroe. He joined Kiwanis in 1988 and has served as Past President, Vice President, and Secretary of the club. Serving over 20 years in the community as an insurance specialist with claims focused on FEMA and flooding, Lt. Gov. Pruett is presently owner of Neu-Coir, a fertilizer from coconuts. His role is to continue the focus and mission to keep “Children Priority One” as a servant with Kiwanis.
One of the ways Kiwanis maintains the mission of serving youth and children is by developing leadership through high school Key Clubs. Key Club has a global reach in both the United States and in 38 other countries performing acts of service in the community. Caney Creek High School has a Key Club sponsored by the Conroe Noon Kiwanis and will be assisting in the upcoming Holiday baskets, the Annual Christmas Parade in Conroe and the Christmas Giving Program.
